Two Sentences, Mat
My name is Mathew Ferguson and I’m a freelance writer and editor from Melbourne, Australia, who, a few years ago, started writing two sentence stories as a writing exercise; and once I hit some 17,000 words of stories I decided I should probably publish them somewhere and get other people to submit their own. Ghost Guitar
The guitar case lay open, a dollar bill lining the padded case; the guitar was no where near the case. The guitar was as far away from the case as possible; hiding in the attic, not wanting to be played ever again.
The Lost Things
The cat came out of it’s hiding place, where it waited, perched on the bookshelf; waiting for it’s owner to take that one book from the shelf, so the cat could jump back into the book and start all over again. Only, the cat didn’t want to leave this place.

I decided to put on a record while I worked. When I stopped working, the record was spinning, but the needle remained still, not a scratch on the record, even though it had been played many times before.

When a snow plow buried her son during the night, the boy’s only thought was to arch his back to compress the snow above him, like in the movies, and then wiggle thru the snow at his feet where it was the thinnest; and then he would run home in tears, having narrowly avoided a wintery grave, and cry about his ordeal in his mother’s arms, and receive hugs and kisses and hot chocolate afterwards. That was the boy’s only thought.
